Troia Golf Club -Portugal
The Troia Golf Club is another fabulous links golf course of Portugal and ranks amongst its topmost courses.
History of the Course:
The Troia Golf Club is located amidst the beautiful coastal region of the Troian peninsula, near Setubal, in the southern part of Lisbon, Portugal. The magnificent 18-hole course provides a scenic golfing location overlooking the waters of the Sado Estuary and the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean, with the Serra da Arrábida mountain range forming a stunning backdrop.
The Troia Golf Course was designed by world renowned golf legend and architect, Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1980. The typical sea-side links style course is subtly crafted amidst the rolling dune lands terrain and the pine trees of the sandbelt region.
The 6,320 metres, par 72 championship course of the Troia Golf Club stretches across the white sandy beaches with a tough doglegs links layout. With small elevated greens well guarded by natural hills and abundant Trent Jones unique bunkering; narrow pine tree-lined fairways bounded by undulating dunes and along with natural lakes, native mixed parkland vegetation and the unpredictable sea winds, makes this a challenging and demanding course for players of all or less handicaps.
The unique location of the sea-side course combined with the natural beauty combines to form a unique links style golfing experience.
The pleasant country styled Clubhouse of the Troia Golf Club offers restaurant, pro-shop, and bar facilities, besides golf practice facilities on the course, tennis, sailing, health clubs including panoramic views from its balcony.
