History of the Course:
The Real Sociedad de Golf Neguri is located in the picturesque coastal woodland area of Getxo, near the seaside town of Algorta, north of Bilbao, in the Pais Vasco region of Spain.
The Real Sociedad de Golf Club was established in 1911, starting off with 11-holes of golf on the lands belonging to the Municipality of Lejona. However, the location was shifted to the Punta Galea region, with the course being formed on the lands acquired from the Municipality of Getxo. The present Real Sociedad Club currently offers 18-holes of exciting golf at its Neguri Course and a 6-hole par 3 junior course as well.
The present 18-hole Real Sociedad de Golf de Neguri course was designed in 1961, by renowned Spanish golf course architect, Javier Arana. The magnificent coastal golf course is created amidst the wooded cliff-tops region on a sloping terrain, 60 meters above sea level, and overlooking the stunning Bay of Biscay.
The 6,280 meters, par 72 course of the Real Sociedad de Golf Neguri winds its way through the mixed parkland vegetation. The course provides excellent variations of its holes- while its front nines are mostly seaside cliff-top holes overlooking the waters of the Bay of Biscay, the Back nines are mostly woodland region of tall marine pine trees. The well-manicured course consists of firm and quick greens; smooth rolling fairways, tree-lined at certain locations; craftily positioned bunkers and water hazards; along with the surrounding native vegetation and strong sea winds. Overall, this course forms a tough yet a relaxed challenge.
The grand Clubhouse of the Real Sociedad de Golf Neguri offers various services including restaurant, bar, swimming-pool, a crèche, as well as spectacular views of the magnificent course and the scenic coastal surroundings.

- Amongst the famous holes at the Real Sociedad de Golf de Neguri Club, are its long par3- 14th hole that requires accuracy to reach an elevated and well guarded green; and its par5-18th hole, that is an excellent closing hole, overlooking the beautiful clubhouse.
