History of the Course:
The Real Club de Golf Sotogrande is located on the scenic beach lands of Sotogrande beside the Guadiaro River, overlooking the vast Mediterranean Sea, in the Cádiz region of Andalucia, Spain.
The Real Sotogrande Golf Club consists of two magnificent courses- the 18 hole Championship Course as well its 9 hole Course.
The 18 hole Real Club de Golf Sotogrande Championship Course was designed by world renowned golf architect, Robert Trent Jones in 1964. This beautiful course was subtly crafted amidst the natural forests of cork, olive, oak, eucalyptus, giant palms and pine, all within the Mediterranean settings.
The 6224 metres, Par 72 , 18 Hole Championship Course of the Real Sotogrande Club layout consists of well maintained, contoured, quick greens; long tees, vast fairways patched with strategically placed bunkers; rolling slopes, natural lakes and cleverly designed water hazards- overall, this course forms a formidable challenge to all level of golfers.
While the fairways are of the Bermuda strains variety, with a unique bunkering style, incorporated by Trent Jones, the materials and style used was the pioneer of golf design in Europe.
The other, Par 3 9 Hole Course of the Real Sotogrande Golf Club is a course suitable for perfecting one's game.

- The Real Sotogrande Golf Club was the first golf course in Europe to be designed by Robert Trent Jones.
- The “Real” title was bestowed to the Club in 1994 by His Majesty the King Juan Carlos I to then club president, D. Walter Rodriguez Figueroa (1989-1997).
- The Real Sotogrande Golf Club has been host to various golfing events including qualifiers and also its first ever professional championship, the Spanish Open in 1966.
