History of the Course:
The Praia d'El Rey Golf & Country Club is located in the picturesque beach lands near the historic village of Obidos, in Lisbon, Portugal.
The 18 hole Championship links style course is a stunningly beautiful course, crafted amidst rolling dunelands, pine groves and sandy hill terrain, with the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean adding to the wonderful golfing experience.
The Praia d'El Rey Golf & Country Club was designed by American architect Cabell B. Robinson in 1997.
The 6,625 metres, par 72 championship golf course of the Praia d'El Rey Golf & Country Club consists of a semi links-parkland type course carved through the natural Portuguese landscape. Its layout consists of well conditioned wide slick greens, vast undulating tree-lined fairways dotted with crafty links bunkering and sand traps, the natural slopes formed due to the dunes, along with the strong winds of the ocean; all combine to make it an exciting links challenge!
This long golf course, besides providing magnificent views from most of its holes, also provides variation through its five different tees, making it an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all levels.
The Clubhouse of the Praia d'El Rey Golf & Country Club offers various services including restaurant, pro-shop, swimming pool, and practice and putting areas along with wonderful bedazzling views of the course, the vineyards, the medieval villages and the ocean.
