History of the Course:
The Moscow Country Club is situated in the woodland forest region of Nakhabino, in the Krasnogorsky district of Greater Moscow, in Russia . The 18-hole world-class golf course is subtly crafted on a 300 acre wooded estate, amidst silver birch and evergreen forests, scenic lakes, native wildlife and species of birds, forming a magnificent and enthralling natural setting for golf.
The Moscow Country Club is the only 18-hole golf course in Russia , and was formed due to the efforts of The Russian Golf Association under the direction of Ivan Ivanovich Sergeev, and designed by renowned golf architect, Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 1994.
The 6,390 metres, par 72, Championship Golf Course of the Moscow Country Club is a traditional parkland style layout course. The golf season however lasts here from mid May through October.
The well-manicured course consists of wide sloping greens; tree-lined undulating fairways; crafty bunkers, roughs, numerous water hazards and the native parkland vegetation. Overall, this course, designed as per international standards, proves to be a formidable challenge to all standards of golfers.
The magnificent Clubhouse of the Moscow Country Club offers various services including restaurant and bar facilities, and wonderful views of the course and the evergreen forest.
Course Trivia:
The Moscow Country Club has hosted numerous in-house amateur and senior golf tournaments as well, including famous events like the PGA European tour Cadillac Russian Open; the 2006 international Imperial Collection Russian Open. Also its annual President of Russia Golf Cup on May 31 International Children's Day, since 1996, the proceeds of which go towards charitable purposes.
