The Falsterbo Golf Club is a classic links style course and is regarded among the finest golf courses of Sweden
History of the Course:
The Falsterbo Golf Club is located in the picturesque Falsterbo peninsula, near Malmo, in the south of Sweden. The 18-hole beautiful links course is subtly crafted amidst the sea-side stretch of land and forms magnificent views of well, being the meeting point of the Öresund and the Baltic Sea.
The Falsterbo Golf Club was established in 1909, where initially a 9-hole course was laid around the historic lighthouse area. But, in 1930, that course was re-designed and a new 18-hole traditional links style golf course, reminiscent to the British and Scottish links courses, was designed by Dr. Gunnar Bauer.
In between 1996-2001, the course greens were rebuilt and re-turfed by architects Peter Chamberlain and Peter Nordwall, and along with the original Bauer holes, today forms the course's fabulous current layout.
