Twin Waters,QLD
The Twin Waters Golf Club is a resort golf course located on Queensland's beautiful Sunshine Coast.
History of the Course:
The Twin Waters Golf Club is a resort golf course created amidst the natural serene bushlands of the Sunshine Coast, and positioned between the Pacific Ocean and the North shore of the Maroochy River. Designed by the team of world famous architects, Thomson & Wolveridge in 1991, the Twin Waters course forms a challenging layout.
The 18 hole, par 72 championship course of the Twin Waters Golf Course is not a links course but contains within it features of a links style design.
With its gently undulating lush green fairways, small yet distinct “pot-shaped” bunkers, patches of rough grasses, vast open greens, the occasional water hazards and exposure to the elements-all these provide a rare contrast of resort golf with golf links elements!
The Twin Waters course has been craftily designed nonetheless through the natural bushland terrain and is covered with grassy mounds and troughs, cleverly placed bunkers and vast fairways to make golfers alter their tee and pin positions and deliver a running links style approach shot to overcome the tough but not unfair course!
