The Golf Club Kennedy Bay,WA
History of the Course:
The Golf Club Kennedy Bay was designed in 1998 by the team of Michael Coate, Roger Mackay and 1991 British Open Champion Ian Baker Finch.
The Golf Club Kennedy Bay is flanked on one side by the vast blue expanse of the Indian Ocean. Created amidst the open coastal region of Port Kennedy, it is surrounded by rising and falling sand dunes and natural Australian bush land, complete with coastal weather; the layout of the course forming a perfect links style location.
This par 72, 18 hole links-style, championship golf course consists of undulating dunes land with firm and quick fairways, 115 trademark "pot" style bunkers along with the well manicured greens, that gives the golfer perfect putting surfaces and an enjoyable golfing experience.
The Kennedy Bay course is usually dry all year round, but its sandy base is kept fully irrigated. The varieties of greens used on the course include the fairways made of Windsor Green strain, superb bentgrass greens along with the natural gorse and heath roughs bordering the fairways. The Golf Club Kennedy Bay course is created in similar fashion with the traditional golf courses of Scotland and Ireland, the origin of links style golf courses.
The Golf Club Kennedy Bay is a golf course that provides a delightful challenge to all golfers, testing their skill and abilities.
