The Glades Golf Club
History of the Course:
The Glades Golf Club is located at Robina, on the Pacific Highway, just off the magnificent Gold Coast of Queensland. The Glades project began here in 1995; the conversion of a seasonal flood plain area into a beautiful 18 hole championship course is what the amazing Glades course is all about.
The Glades Golf Course was designed by Australian golfing legend and architect, Greg Norman and his co-designer, Bob Harrison in the year 2000, and is owned by golfing great, Ian Baker-Finch.
The 6420 metres, par 72, Championship Course of the Glades Golf Club, spread over 65 hectares of natural wetland region, consists of a typical challenging, Norman-designed layout. The course consists of elevated greens, vast undulating fairways dotted with Norman's cleverly positioned, 98 testing bunkers and sand traps, along with the natural water hazards, that all combine to form a unique golfing challenge that tests the abilities of all golfers.
The greens on the course are well maintained and created out of the tropical bentgrass variety, which serve as an excellent putting surface and provide an immaculately splendid day of golf here at the Glades.
The Clubhouse of the Glades Golf Course serves golfers and guests with its grill bar and also through its wonderful, Glades Lodge and Spa, which rejuvenates one completely.
