The Secret Harbour Golf Club in Western Australia reflects the traditional links style golf course of Scotland.
History of the course:
The Secret Harbour Golf Course was designed by golfing legend and famous golf architect, Graham Marsh in 1999.
The Secret Harbour Golf Course was fashioned amidst the beautiful backdrop of the picturesque Indian Ocean. The fabulous18 hole course is created in the traditional Scottish links style . The layout of the course comprises of well tended undulating fairways; typical “pot shaped” bunkers bounded by green fescue grass; the natural rolling sand dunes and of course, the scenic coastal views with the constant revitalizing breezes from the vast Indian ocean.
There are various tee options for each hole that depend on the coastal wind conditions and the golfer's ability. Thus, they form an enjoyable challenging experience for the average golfer and the golf professional.
At the Secret Harbour Golf Course long distance shots are necessary, yet, precision must be maintained as to the accuracy towards the hole.
Course Trivia:
- The traditional Scottish links style courses such as Turnberry, Muirfeild and St. Andrews are reflected in the design of the Secret Harbour golf course.
- Some of the famous holes here at the Secret Harbour Golf Course are the 4 th , 8 th , 15 th and the 17 th .
- The 4th hole, being a well remembered hole to all golfers at the Secret Harbour, comprising of a long par 4, calls for a long and precise drive right over a large swamp. Then using a mid to long iron, an accurate shot is required in order to hit it towards the tight green, guarded by a famous “pot shaped” bunker and long grass.
- The most outstanding 17th hole consists of an extensive fairway cluttered with pot bunkers that terminates where a lake begins. Across the lake sits the small, two-tier green, surrounded by pot bunkers on either side with the bush behind the green.
- The Secret Harbour Golf Course also contains its “19 th Hole Bistro”; an exclusive relaxing haven for tired golfers, they can choose between a bite and a sip, after a tiring day at the golf course, or simply view the panoramic landscape of the golf course.
Secret Harbour Golf Club is a resort golf course that offers a wide range of playing times 7 days a week.
