The Lakelands Golf Club located in Queensland's beautiful Gold Coast, is a signature course of golfing legend Jack Nicklaus, and his first in Australia.
History of the Course:
After a long search of over twenty five years for an ideal site throughout Australia, Jack Nicklaus finally found the Lakelands Golf Course as his best choice for his signature golf course.
Designed in 1997, The Lakelands was constructed by Leighton Contractors and supervised by the Golden Bear Construction team.
The 6,489 metres, 18 hole, par-72 championship course of the Lakelands Golf Club has a unique layout. With perfectly manicured greens consisting of couchgreen fairways of the Windsor Green strain and the rough finely cropped greens of the Bermuda variety are fast and unwavering. The cleverly positioned bunkers along with the pristine lakes snaking its way through the course, form a delightful yet challenging golfing experience for amateurs as well as professionals.
The Lakelands being located in a subtropical region of Australia is subject to complete sunshine for a major part of the year. Thus, the Lakelands Golf Club provides a perennial golfing experience on its brilliantly manicured course.
The Clubhouse of the Lakelands Golf Course provides golfers with various facilities. Besides offering conference or corporate get together services, the clubhouse is also a simple haven for relaxation after a tiring golfing day! The walls of the clubhouse are adorned with attractive records of club paraphernalia and the original hand-sketched modifications made to the maps of the early Nicklaus designs.

- The Lakeland golf course refurbishes its greens yearly, thus to assure a memorable golfing feel.
- Besides having Marshals on the course that ascertains a pleasant golfing experience, a drinks cart on the course that serves weary golfers with a quick bite and sip is also present. Both these services are provided by the Lakelands course weekly.
- For golfers to test their playing abilities, there are five different tee markers on each hole that have different ranges, namely the, 6492m (black), 6142m (blue), 5814m (white), 5334m (red) and the 4685m (yellow).
The Lakelands Golf Club is a resort golf course that offers a wide range of playing times 7 days a week and overall an ideal location for a golfing getaway.
As per Australian Top 100 Golf Courses (2006 rankings), the Lakelands Golf Club has been ranked as No. 59 .
