The Joondalup Resort Golf Course in Perth, Western Australia is a Country Club cum Resort, championship golf course.
History of the course:
The Joondalup golf course consists of three different natural landscapes of bushland, dunes and quarry that offer a unique challenge due to the assorted golf holes styles and includes a scenic background for every hole. The course forms the core attraction of the Joondalup Country Club and Resort Hotel.
The Joondalup Golf Course was designed by famous golfing architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 1985.
The par 72, 6332 metre, 27-hole fabulous layout of the Joondalup Golf Course weaves itself through a web of grand quarries, rolling dunes and serene lakes. The harsh natural bushland terrain of the Joondalup blends well with the rising and falling fairways, craftily positioned bunkers and smooth and fast greens.
The wide variety of the Joondalup greens include fairways created with strains of Santa Ana couch grass, the Bentgrass greens of the PennCross variety while the roughs are of the Rye and Fescue source designed to enjoy alternative golfing surfaces.
The Joondalup Golf club also provides a wide range of practice facilities that coaches golfers in putting, driving and chipping over the ingeniously positioned bunkers onto the lush greens.
The Clubhouse of the Joondalup Country Club provides golfers with various facilities belonging to a first class variety, and apart from being a venue for conventions and banquets; it also acts as a restroom providing relaxation for tired golfers.
