History of the Course:
The Rydges Capricorn Resort is located on the Capricorn coast of Yeppoon in Queensland. It consists of two magnificently designed, challenging golf courses- its Championship Course and its Resort Course.
The Championship Course (new course) of the Capricorn Resort is the latest addition to golf here and was opened for play in 1992; this being American Karl Litten's exclusively designed course.
The 6,438 metres, par 72 Championship Course of the Rydges Capricorn Resort consists of a well crafted course amidst the natural melaleuca bushland of Australia's wetlands. The course displays smooth greens, vast fairways dotted with innumerable, well-placed bunkers and sand traps along with abundant water hazards that challenge the golfing abilities and skills of all levels of golfers.

Course Trivia:
- The 36 hole Rydges Capricorn Resort Golf Course with its Karl Litten designed Championship Course and Thomson & Wolveridge designed Resort Course, are both of International standard and serve up challenging rounds of golf.
- The holes of the Capricorn Championship Course are excellent, however the one's that stand out exceptionally include the long 519 yard, par 5, 15th hole that consists of a dogleg layout to the green, bending around a lake and speckled with 15 sand traps- an adrenaline pumping challenge!
- Both the Capricorn Resort Golf Courses play host to the famous Pro Am Tournament every year in August, as well as other golfing events.
- The Capricorn Golf Resort has for 7 years been awarded with the "PGA Players Choice- Tournament of the Year Award".
- The picturesque location of the Capricorn Championship Course amongst the melaleuca wetlands offer beautiful views as well as the natural bushland surroundings are a habitat to various bird species including the Australian kookaburra and cockatoos- a pleasurable golfing experience!
The Rydges Capricorn Golf Club- Championship Course is a resort golf course that offers a wide range of playing times, 7 days a week.
As per the Australian Top 100 Golf Courses (2006 rankings), the Capricorn Golf Club has been ranked as No. 54.
