History of the Course:
The Capital Golf Club is a course designed following the vision and dreams of world famous golfer and architect, Peter Thompson and his partner, Lloyd Williams, along with the team of Michael Wolveridge and Ross Perrett. Created in 1997, this course is an example of a magnificent feat of engineering and yet one of Australia's most serene and finest courses.
This masterpiece course of the Capital Golf Club consists of a classic sandbelt course layout. With perfectly conditioned greens and vast undulating fairways covered with innumerable white bunkers and sandtraps; the roughs, water hazards and sloping green dunes, all combine to make the course is a challenging one. The prime features of the course are its bunkers; designed in typical Thompson's "pot- bunkering" style, they are merged with the features of the traditional sandbelt bunkers as well- a superb blend of classic and modern golf engineering.
The greens of the Capital Club are well maintained, while its fairways, greens and tee areas provide a quality golf turf; with excellent putting surfaces and smooth playing, for that wonderful sandbelt golfing experience!
The brilliant and grand Clubhouse of the Capital Golf Club with its subtle display of fine interior décor, also provides a wide range of luxurious amenities and facilities including dining, library, bar, unique collection of 'great golf courses' lining its walls and also a haven for relaxation after a tiring day of golf.
Whilst entering the Club through its famous colossal wrought iron gates, the grandeur and prestige of the majestic club can be seen and felt. The views from the Clubhouse are spectacular, overlooking the majestic course within a natural amphitheatre of duneland terrain amidst sprawling beauty of the sandbelt undergrowth.
