Christianity in Gibraltar



Christianity in Gibraltar is the main religion that is followed by most of the people of Gibraltar. The main population of the province shares the Roman Catholic Church. Apart from Christianity in Gibraltar, there are some people who belong to Hindu, Islamic and Jewish faith.

The Roman Catholic Church in Gibraltar is the component of global Roman Catholic Church which is under the religious management of the Curia and Pope in Rome. About 23,000 people are believed to be baptized Catholics in Gibraltar which makes up to about 86% of the total population of the place.

The major hub of worship at Gibraltar is the Cathedral of St Mary the Crowned but at the same time there is a shrine and six churches. Gibraltar is a sole diocese that is subject directly to the Holy See.

There are two Cathedrals at Gibraltar viz Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and Cathedral of St Mary Crowned. St Andrew's Church is also located at Gibraltar. Some of the basic minorities that snuggled in this particular region are Church of Scotland, the Methodist Church, and The Church of England.
