Gibraltar is a British overseas territory located in southwestern Europe. It is colloquially referred to as Gib or the Rock. The territory covers a total land area of 2.6 square miles. According to the 2009 census, the estimated population of Gibraltar is 29,431.

The geographical co-ordinates of Gibraltar are 36 08 N, 5 21 W.
