Toyota F1

Toyota is a Formula One team based in the German city of Cologne. It is owned by and looked after by Toyota, the Japanese racing car manufacturing company. The announcement of establishing the team was

made in 1999 when the company was satisfied with their extensive testing of the TF101 car. However, it was not till 2002 that the team made its debut. The team has actually developed from the already existing organization called the Toyota Motorsport. This team had also participated in the 24 hours of Le Mans as well as the World Rally Championship.

Toyota F1 team had started their career as a Formula One team on a commendable note winning a point in their first ever tournament. However, they could not follow it up properly and is yet to win any Grand prix. Still, with a number of podium finishes along with a pole position, the Toyota F1 team is gradually occupying a major position in the world of Formula One car racing. The team has German Ralf Schumacher and Jarno Trulli as the race drivers. The three test drivers are Franck Montagny, Kohel Hirate and Kamui Kobayashi.
