Spyker is one of the major Formula One teams which takes part in several championships of the sport. The team was created in September 2006 and has been among the top Formula One teams since then. However, the creation of the team has been planned since 1991.
The Spyker had its Formula One debut at the Australian Grand Prix in 2007. Since then, the team has competed in seven races. However, soon the team had its complete change of name. The drivers of the Midland F1 team were Christijan Albers and Tiago Monteiro. They had brought enough glory to the Midland team. Hence these two drivers were retained with the Spyker team for the 2006. Christijan Albers has also been retained as the driver in the new Formula One season in 2007.
