Red Bull Racing is the Formula One team which made its first appearance in the 2005 Australian Grand Prix. The team is owned by the Austrian beverage company, Red Bull and has a promising future in Formula One racing.
Operation Station:
Although owned by the Austrian beverage company, the team is based in Milton Keynes in the United Kingdom. It has currently been awarded the permission to race with the Austrian license.
Team Mates:
Red Bull Racing will make its fourth appearance in the 2008 Formula One with Mark Webber and David Coulthard as its key drivers. M. Ammermuller and R. Doornbos have been appointed as test drivers for the team. Christian Horner has been appointed as the team principal with Adrian Newey as its Chief Technical Officer and Geoff Willis as its Technical director.
Engineering:
Red Bull Racing cars are powered with the RB4 chassis. The team uses the engines produced by Renault. The car tyres are supplied by Bridgestone Potenza.
Performance in the Past Years:
The team made its first campaign in the year 2005 Australian Grand Prix after purchasing the 2004 squad of Jaguar. The team won several points in its first appearance and finished in the 7th standing at the end of the long drawn season.
In the 2006 season, the Red Bull Racing faced unexpected challenges from its sister team, Toro Rosso, owned by the same beverage company, Red Bull. The team was able to achieve 18 points, which were less than its earlier season. With the aid of David Coulthard, the team made its debut stand in the podium in Monaco.
Although stunted at the beginning of the 2007 season, the team recorded its premiere best finish in Hungary. David Coulthard ranked fifth while Mark Webber emerged with glowing colors in the third position.
With the approaching 2008 Formula One Championship, Red Bull Racing has signed the Concorde Agreement securing its long term position in the Formula One races.
