Jordan Formula One team named after Irish businessman and founder Eddie Jordan, competed from 1991 to 2005. The team, well known for its "rock and roll" attitude added color and character to Formula One in the 1990's. Jordan Formula One
Edie Jordan had a brief carrier as a race driver in the late 1970s. In the late 1980's he ran a successful Formula Three and Formula 3000 team, called Eddie Jordan Racing which won the F300 driver's championship with future Formula One star Jean Alesi in 1989.
Midland Group confirmed the ownership of Jordan Formula One in early 2005. They renamed the team as MF1 for 2006 season and again later in 2006 it was sold to Dutch car manufacturer Spyker.
Through its championship career Jordan Formula One team used machines like Ford, Yamaha, Hart, Peugeot, Mugen-Honda, Honda and Toyota. Many famous drivers have been associated with the team, whose contribution to Formula One shall never be forgotten. Some of them are Heinz-Harald Frentzen, Giancarlo Fisichella, Rubens Barrichello, Eddie Irvine, Michael Schumacher and Ralf Schumacher.
During its short span of existence Jordan Formula One team achieved four race victories, two pole positions. 2005 Chineese Grand Prix was the last time Jordan participated in a championship.
