Formula One Teams

Formula one teams are actually part of the manufacturers of formula one cars. There are many teams in formula one racing that have participated in Grand Prix events since its inception. Each team has several members in it. A formula one race driver is appointed to represent each team and the competition is held for the best team in formula one racing. Individual performances are also paid equal importance in these races. In the initial years of formula one, the concept of team had not developed and there were separate championship for drivers and constructors. In the present context teams and constructors are almost interchangeable terms.

In earlier times, formula one teams also built the engines of their cars but with changing times, these are now done by the car manufacturing companies only. These car manufacturing companies employ formula one drivers to drive their cars in formula one races. There are many renowned companies, who manufacture formula one cars. Some of the most prominent among them are Ferrari, BMW Sauber, Renault, Toro Rosso, Toyota, Honda and Red Bull. Contract of the manufacturing companies and the drivers are usually for one year and are renewed if the driver turns out to be suitable. Mutual understanding between the team reflects on the racing tracks with the driver performing with zeal and enthusiasm. The following links will help one to know formula one teams better:
