Rubens Barrichello is a Brazilian ace racer. He was born on 23rd May, 1972 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is married to Silvana and has two sons, Fernando and Eduardo. He is currently residing in Monaco with his family.
Early Life and Career
Barichello got his Kart from his grandfather when he was 6 years old. However, he had to persuade his father to be able to take part in a Kart race. Lady luck seemed to be on his side when he won the official junior kart race and ensured a first place in his third attempt. For the next eight years he had participated in and had won several kart races of national and international standard. At the age of 17 in 1989 he started driving the Formula ford car. After a great deal of hard work he signed up with the Jordan in 1993. This was the realization of his dream. Ruben's role model was Ayrton Senna from whom he had drawn inspiration. Senna had also provided him financial assistance.

Ruben Barichello had quite an eventful career. He had taken part in a number of championships in his entire racing career and had won some of them making him as one of the most powerful contenders for the world championship tile. The important races of his life are:
- Prior to Formula Ford racing he had won several kart racing championships like the Sao Paulo Kart championship and Brazilian kart championship. He had fared well in those races.
- 1989 – He gained the 4th position in Brazilian formula Ford Championship
- 1990 – He won the formula Opel
- 1991 – He was declared winner of the British Formula3.
- 1992 – He secured the 3rd position in the formula 3000 championship.
- 2000 - His debut in Formula One racing and securing the 4th position in the championship
- 2001 – This year was slightly better in terms of the position since he was placed in the 3rd position in the F1 race this season.
- 2002-2004 – During these two years he finished second in the Formula One Championship.
- He had participated in several Granja Vianna Championships of 500 miles track during the years 1998 through 2005.
