Brazil started its stint with Formula One in the year 1972, when the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace held its first ever Formula One race at Interlagos, Brazil. The very next year, it was a part of the world
Autodrome Jose Carlos Pace is known to be a Formula One circuit that mingles the best of the modern and the traditional. It has a circuit length of 4.31 km. and goes through 71 laps to complete the total racing distance of 305.91 km. It requires something of the old world bravado to complete the race, because it does maintain some of the sharp turns of the older days, along with the strict safety concerns voiced by FIA.
The Brazilian Grand Prix has been a witness to many incidents of note. 2003 saw one of the most happening races in the history of Brazilian Grand Prix. A series of mishaps and unprecedented chaos ensued with the beginning of the race, including heavy rain. Giancarlo Fischella with Jordan, finally ended up with the title, his maiden no doubt; but there were more to the race than records. 2006 saw the Brazilian Grand Prix being endowed with the honor of being the last round of the championship. It was the race where Michael Schumacher said his farewell to the world of Formula One.
