Formula one cars are made of ultra light weight materials. The minimum weight of a formula one car has to be 600 kilograms during practice and qualifying matches. This weight is inclusive of the weight of the driver, the fluids in the car and on-board cameras. A minimum weight of 600 kilograms has to be maintained at all times during the car race. Less than 600 kilograms is not permissible at any point of the race.
Another vital part is that ballasts can be used but it has to be safely installed in the car. Adequate and appropriate tools should also be present in formula one cars for removing the ballast when required. Provisions should also be kept open to fix seals in case any technical delegate inspects the car during a race.
After a race begins, only fuels and compressed gases can be added to the car. Parts of the car can also be replaced, but it has to be ensured that the weight of the new parts should be same as the replaced parts, keeping the weight of the car the same.
