With Timo Gluk and Jarno Trulli as the drivers, Panasonic Toyota Racing is hoping for a podium finish in the 2008 Formula One Season.
One of the 2008 Formula One Teams, Panasonic Toyota Racing has drivers like Timo Gluk and Jarno Trulli. Third driver Kamui Kobayshi will assists them. Preparations for the forthcoming season are going in full swing and the team is hoping to improve their performance than the last season.
The Panasonic Toyota Racing Formula 1 team was established in 1999. Founded by Hiroshi Okuda, the team has so far participated in 105 Grand Prix. The team made its F1 debut in 2002 at the Australian Grand Prix.
Brief descriptions of the performance of Panasonic Toyota Racing Formula 1 team since its foundation are given below:
- 2002 – With Alan Mc Nish and Mika Salo as drivers, the team finished in 10th position with 2 points.
- 2003 – Cristiano da Matta and Oliveir Panis were the drivers for the team that secured 8th position and earned a total of 16 points.
- 2004 – Again finished 8th this time with total of 9 points. The old pair drove again for the team, joined by two new racers – Jarno Trulli and Ricardo Zonta.
- 2005 – Driven by Ralf Schumacher, Zonta and Jarno Trulli, the team achieved its best ever performance. It came fourth, collecting 88 points.
- 2006 – Steered by Ralf Schumacher and Jarno Trulli, it came 6th with 35 points.
- 2007 – Secured 6th position again with the same drivers and 13 points.
With an experienced driver like Jarno Trulli and youngster Timo Glock, Team Panasonic Toyota Racing is hoping to achieve some never before achieved, success.
