2008 Formula One Teams are eleven in number and certified by the FIA, which is the organization behind the event. The teams are participating with their best drivers and their best cars and fight it out on the tracks. Ferrari is a natural favorite since it won the overall championship by being crowned as the best constructor. Their driver, Kimi Raikkoken, was crowned as the best racer of 2007 Formula One Championship.

2008 Formula One Teams have all geared up for the event for which they had waited for one year. The greatest, the most exciting and the nerve-wrenching event of the year- Formula One Championship is just round the corner. The event will commence from March and the teams and their members are all prepared to compete and win the competition. The FIA has been organizing this sporting event every year since 1950. The event is divided into two parts. In the first part the racers would win the championship and, in the second, the teams would win the award for the best constructor.

There are 11 teams taking part in the championship. However, the participating teams and their members have to follow certain rules and regulations formulated by the FIA to be able to contend in the competition. The teams had to file their participation forms to the FIA and the organization decided on the names of the various teams and declared their names on 28th April, 2006. The major part of the teams has signed up with the FOM. The FOM is the Formula One Management, which looks after the commercial rights of the game. Three other teams have signed up with the Grand Prix Manufacturers’ Association. FOM’s chief Mr. Bernie Ecclestone and the GPMA have signed an agreement to end their cold war and to safeguard the interest of the Formula One Championship.

• Force India
• Red Bull
• Toyota
• Super Aguri
• Williams
• Toro Rosso

2008 Formula One Teams under the GPMA are:

• Honda
• McLaren-Mercedes
• BMW Sauber

In the 2007 Formula One Championship Ferrari secured the first position by scoring 204 points as the best constructor, while McLaren Mercedes unfortunately could not score any points. All the teams are launching new car models in the 2008 FI race.

Thus, it is definitely going to be a star-studded event.
