The F1 Teams vying for the forth coming season are optimistic about their new 2008 Formula One Cars. Much of the teams' performance will depend on the functionality of these smart machines.
The teams for the forthcoming F1 season are preparing with full enthusiasm and gearing up with their 2008 Formula One Cars. Several of the teams have upgraded their 2007 cars, while some have brought in exclusive new cars. A brief idea about the cars on which the 2008 Formula One teams are banking are given below:
Ferrari
The 2008 Formula One car for Ferrari has been upgraded with several technical changes. The new car has been named as F2008. The main addition tothe F2008 is the SECU or Standard Electronic Control Unit. The weight of the car, inclusive of fuel, water and the driver has been kept at 1,333.78 Pounds.
McLaren – Mercedes
With the curtain raiser of new MP4-23 model at the Mercedes-Benz museum in Stuttgart, McLaren – Mercedes began its warm up for the 2008 Formula One season. The brand new car has a fuel capacity of 2.4 liters. With 95 Kilogram engine and 8 cylinders, the car has meet all the FIA required standards. Painted in red and steel colors, the car has been given a dashing metallic look.
BMW Sauber F1 Team
Armed with latest of technology, the BMW Sauber F1 Team is pinning their hopes on the not yet launched – F1.08 model, the car for their 2008 Formula one ventures. The car will be launched on 14th January, 2208.
Red Bull Racing
The yet to be launched 2008 Formula One Car for Red Bull Racing Team is supposed to be quite identical to the 2007 model. The team will launch its new car at Jerez, Spain on 16th January.
Honda
The new Formula One car for Honda will be called RA 108 and set to be launched on 29th January, 2008. The software solutions of this car has been provided by IBM.
Renault
Renault has decided to launch its 2008 Formula One Car on 31st January at Paris.
Super Aguri
The team will present its new model for 2008 Formula One season on 19th February, 2008.
Rest of the team including Force India, Toro-Rosso and Williams have not decided on the launch dates of their F1 cars fro 2008 season.
