The fourth edition of the race, Turkish Grand Prix 2008 is due to be held from 9th of May. The all-important final race will take off on the 11th, 3.00 P.M.

Turkish Grand Prix 2008 is one of the important title races of Formula One season. The Turkish Grand Prix was held for the first time in 2005. Prime Minister of Turkey inaugurated the outstanding new circuit at Istanbul before the first race flagged off.
The Site
The track of Turkish Grand Prix has a convenient location in the western part of Istanbul, near Kurtkoy. The Turkish Grand Prix venue covers an enormous area of more than 2,200 square meters. With a length of 5, 338 Kilometers, the track has 7 left turns, 6 right turns and a total of 13 curves. The highest expected speed on this track is 320.5 Kilometer per hour. More than 30,000 spectators can watch the races from the grand stand and another 1,25,000 can view from the ground and temporary stands. The 2008 Turkish Grand Prix is going to be the 4th edition of this prestigious championship.

- 2005 – Kimi Raikkonen of Mc-Laren – Mercedes team was the winner.
- 2006 – Felipe Massa representing Ferrari became the winner.
- 2007 – Once again Massa of Ferrari came out triumphant.
Tournament Schedule
The Turkish Grand Prix, 2008 commences on Friday, 9th May with two practice sessions. The first one starts from 10.00 A.M and the second one at 2.00 P.M. Both the sessions are of one and half hours duration. On the next day – Saturday, 10th May, a one hour long morning practice session from 11.00 A.M. will be followed by the qualifying race at 2.00 P.M. The final race will be held on Sunday, 11th May from 3.00 P.M.
Tickets
Tickets for Turkish Grand Prix of various rates are available according to the facilities and viewing position. The lowest price of tickets is 30 £, while the highest price is 320 £. These rates are only for the final day. For season tickets, one has to pay a minimum of 35 £ and a maximum of 370 £.

Filipe Massa won a sweeping victory at the Turkish Grand Prix, held on 11 May, 2008. The Latin American
Ferrari driver triumphed over Lewis Hamilton, McLaren-Mercedes driver, who finished in the second position. His Ferrari team mate, Kimi Raikkonen finished in the third position. Massa won ten points for his victory while Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen were awarded 8 and 6 points respectively.
Filipe Massa stands in the second position in the Drivers' standing with 28 points while his team mate, Raikkonen leads with 35 points. Ferrari heads the Constructors Standings with 63 points.
