Shanghai, the beautiful Chinese city is all ready to host the Chinese Grand Prix 2008. The significant Formula One race is the 17th race of the
2008 Formula One schedule. Held for the first time in 2004, the Chinese Grand Prix, 2008 will fall in its fifth year of Grand Prix racing.
The Site

Chinese Grand Prix 2008 boasts of one of the most exciting tracks of the racing world with breathtaking curves. Designed by Hermann Tike, the track in
Shanghai has been planned in a manner to facilitate easier overtaking. The circuit has a length of 5.451 Kilometers with a race length of 305.066 Kilometers consisting of 56 laps. Located on Zhongshan Road of the city, the Shanghai International Circuit is considered among the best of the
2008 f1 Grand Prix venues.
Previous Years
With the commencement of this wonderful event in 2004, Chinese Grand Prix has been successfully held uninterruptedly every year. The winners of the previous years of the race has been listed below:
- 2004 – Brazilian Rubens Barrichello won the title for Ferrari.
- 2005 – Spain's Fernando Alonso, driving for Renault secured the first place.
- 2006 – Michael Schumacher of Germany represented Ferrari and emerged as the eventual winner.
- 2007 – Ferrari tasted success again, this time Kimi Raikkonen of Finland wining it for the team.
The Schedule
The 2008 Chinese Grand Prix starts on Friday, 17th October. Two practice sessions of one and half hour duration is scheduled on the first day. The first one commences at 10.00 A.M and the second one at 2.00 P.M.. The following day is reserved for another practice session from 11.00 A.M to 12.00 P.M. and the qualifying race at 2.00 P.M. Sunday, 19th October has been scheduled for the final race, which will take off at 15.00 P.M.
