2008 Formula One Rule Changes

2008 Formula One Rule Changes have been implemented with the view of enhancing the safety and fairness of the competition. The standards of Formula One rules have been chalked by engineers and experts of the game. Every season, some on-track problems arise that prompt the authorities to modify the specific existing rule. Taking lessons from the last season, changes have been incorporated in the regulations of 2008 Formula One.

2008 Formula One will see a lot of technical changes covering various aspects like engine, bodywork, gear boxes, brakes, wheels, tires, chassis and others. For the current season, the overall car width has been increased. ECU – Electronic Control Unit manufactured by FIA approved manufacturer has to be implemented for the controlling of engines. Reduction of the ballast levels will be observed during 2008 season. FIA specified manufacturer will supply tyres in 2008.

Sporting changes in 2008 involve the provision of testing with a limitation of 30,000 Kilometers. The freedom of buying car from any constructor will be provided to the teams. Spare cars will not be allowed and spare chassis will be permissible but under certain restrictions.
