Formula One 2007 stands at significant historical crossroads as far as Formula One is concerned. It is the last session before the Concorde Agreement formally ends. Many chief makers stand in absolute disagreement with the FOM and Bernie Ecclestone. There is a constant threat that many of these constructors including Mercedez- Benz, Honda and BMW will abandon the F1 circuit and probably stage their own alternative championship.
However, with the dark clouds of a possible cessation on the cards, Formula 1 2007 commenced with the Australian GP on March 18 at Melbourne. The season is slated to end with the Brazilian Grand Prix at Sao Paolo on 21 October. The schedule this session is conspicuous in the absence of a German Grand Prix, for the first time in 50 years.
There has been plenty of changes right at the beginning of the Formula One 2007 season. Rumors of many more are on the cards as the season progresses. They include changes in both the driver's lists as well as in the team lists. The greatest feature of the Formula 1 2007 has been the meteoric rise of Lewis Hamilton. Schumacher's absence on the fast tracks has not been felt as much as it should have been, courtesy the excitement generated by this young British sensation. However, Fernando Alonso breathes close on his shoulders. All in all the rivalry between the two seems to be one of the great attractions of the season at a time, which is not the best for the game.
