In a conference of the
south Pacific countries in 1999 this new flag was officially adopted.
The seal has 27 five pointed stars each depicting the members of the organization.
The yacht sail, palm tree and the sea on the emblem of the
flag of Pacific Community symbolizes the close proximity to the Pacific Ocean.
The coconut tree is also a sign of wealth. The disc like formation of the stars on
the Pacific Community Flag stands for technological development of the island countries and the bonds they share.
