The Union Flag or the Union Jack is the flag of Britain. The British flag in its current form has been around for four hundred years. It was made to show the joining of Scotland and England in 1606. The flag later incorporated the colours and symbols of (Northern) Ireland too. The flag contains three heraldic crosses. It was not formed by any law.
