Bouvet Island Flag
Bouvet Island uses the official flag of Norway as its national flag. The island is an unhabited colony of Norway.
Designed by Fredrik Meltzer, a Norwegian businessman, the ensign of the Bouvet Island has a red background with a dark-blue Scandinavian cross with white borders.
The upright portion of the cross is similar in pattern to the flag of Denmark. The three colors-red, white, and blue-symbolize freedom. The Scandinavian cross in the center of the flag is a symbol of Christianity.
