Finland Motor Sports has two important clubs namely the Finnish Automobile Sport Federation and the Finnish Motorcycling Federation. The members of these Finland Motor Sports clubs organize more than 400 contests every year. The tours organized during the Finland Motor Sports events in the recent past include ATV-Tour, All Terrain Vehicle, All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Safaris at Tahko, ATV Safari to Russia, Adventure eKuopio ATV Safaris 2008-Lakeland Safari, All-Terrain-Vehicles (ATVS), With Full Speed to the Rally and Water Jet Safaris 2008.
The contests organized by the Finnish Automobile Sport Federation include track training, motor rallying, motor orienteering, ice track racing, allcomers' motor racing, formula karting and other similar events both on the national as well as the international level. The biggest attractions of the Motor Sports in Finland are the Arctic rally and the Neste Rally Finland organized in Jyvaskyla and Rovaniemi respectively.
The Finnish Motorcycling Federation is another important name in Finland Motor Sports. It has a member count of 29000 in its 307 member clubs. The international European and World meets arranged by this Finnish Motor Sports club are track racing, speedway, road racing, snowmobile and trial racing and motocross.
Participation in the Finland Motor Sports events is considered to be the most popular citizen activity in Finland. Recent studies show that 40% of the Finnish youth and 12% of the adults are engaged in these activities, proving that the people in Finland are “sports crazy”. The main source of the economic support of the Finland Motor Sports is the state-owned Finnish National Lottery.
