Finland Midnight Sun

The midnight sun is an occurrence which is seen in the northern latitudes and to the north of the Arctic Circle. In this phenomenon the sun is visible for 24 hours. The Finland Midnight Sun is the same phenomenon and during this time the sun remains visible all the time in Finland. In the northern Finland the sky remains bright almost all the night. Finland Midnight Sun is also seen in southern places like Helsinki.

During the Finland midnight sun, gentle light from sun spreads all over the land of Finland. The air seems to sparkle in that light. The nature glows and everything becomes soft, reflective. The birds too sleep very less in this time. The country residents too sleep for only about three to four hours. Finland experiences midnight sun because a quarter of Finland falls under the region of Arctic Circle.

At the northern most point of Finland the sun does not set foe seventy three days. The effect of Midnight Sun is varied on the Finnish people. Many of them are not able to sleep during the night time as because the sun keeps on shining. Sometimes the tourists are affected to this phenomenon because of the fact that they are not accustomed to it. The effect of this can lead to Seasonal Affective Disorder which is a sort of depression caused due to lack of natural light. The duration of midnight sun may not be that extensive but summer in Finland is a along awaited time to many of the people.
