Finland weather is directly dependent on the geographical location of the country. Finland is located in the extreme northernmost part of the European continent, while some parts of the country lie in the Arctic Circle. Finland climate is a combination of extreme weather conditions. There are severe winters as well as warm summers in Finland. Since there are abundant water bodies in Finland, the weather in Finland is also controlled by these factors.

Finland weather has characteristics of both maritime and continental type of climate. The country is under the direct influence of the Westerlies and other winds blowing to and from the Baltic Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. These winds can modulate the climatic conditions of Finland greatly and make the winters chillier. Due to the extension of the country to the Arctic Circle, Finland has a longer period of sunshine in the summer season.

The weather of Finland is divided into four distinct seasons.
