Fiji Lifestyle is influenced by the mixture of Fijian and Indian culture. The South Pacific Islands of Fiji belong to the Melanesia sub-division of the continent of Oceania. However much influence of Polynesia is observed in the lifestyle of Fiji. Fiji Lifestyle is a mix of cultures.

Lifestyle of Fiji is easy going and simple. The rural population, which constitutes more of the half of total population, is based on subsistence agriculture. The friendly and sharing atmosphere of the Fijian villages is a characteristic of its own. The village headman, in most cases an elder man of the village, is the leader and the representative of he village. Fijian people live in houses made of matted walls and thatched roofs called bures. Furniture is minimal.

The communal village life is based on sharing. The rituals and customs prevalent from the past are performed in the presence of all the villagers. Traditional patriarchal authority is respected by all. The main food items of the Fijians are rice, yams and fish. The Kava is drunk on special occasions. The dress is mostly Western but traditional sulus are also worn. The main religion is Christianity. The language spoken are English and Fijian.

The lifestyle of the Indians living in Fiji are similar to the Indian style of living. They are mostly farmers cultivating sugarcane and other crops on land leased from landowners. Most of them are Hindus and Muslims. The language used by them is Hindi.

The urban population of Fiji are habituated to a fast paced lifestyle like the cities of the world. The lifestyle of urban based Fijians are concentrated mostly around the tourism and fishing industry of Fiji.
