Estonia Museums

The Estonia Museums store the art and crafts of people of the European nation of Estonia. These Estonia museums are the places from where information
about the country can be availed. The history of the museums in Estonia dates back to the year 1802, in which Johann Burchardt VII, a local chemist, started collecting rare things. His collections were exhibited as the Mon Faible. This is regarded as the first private museum in Estonia.

The Mon Faible was soon followed by the opening of the natural history study of the Tartu University in 1802 and the establishment of the art museum of the Tartu University in 1803. These are regarded as the first public museums of Estonia. There are currently 30 museums in the country, which are owned and run by the state. There are also a few local museums.

During the 19th century, several museums were established in the country. These museums were established to enhance the local cultural heritage.
