After a few years since the independence of the country, Estonian youth has moved a bit away from marriage. They mainly prefer cohabitation and sometimes even have children before getting officially married. The families in Estonia mainly follow a pattern. These families usually consist of the parents and children. The number of children in a family varies from one to three. The grandparents, however, live separately. The families gather together during several occasions and festivals like the birthday parties, Christmas and others.
The number of birth in Estonia Family had reached its nadir after the independence. This was a result of the lack of interest in the young people of getting into the family life occurred.
