Estonia Football is under the observation of the Estonian Football Association or the Eesti Jalgpalli Liit. All the domestic tournaments of Meistriliiga and the Estonian Cup are played under the governance of the
Estonian Football Association. It also controls the Estonia National Football Team. Although right after Estonian independence, the national football team was the weakest of the three Baltic teams, the fortune and performance of Estonia Football has improved since the Euro 2004 qualifiers.
Meistriliiga, II Liiga, Esiliiga, III Liiga and IV Liiga are the famous domestic Estonia Football club championships in which, the reserve teams contest in the same league pyramid. The Estonian Cup however is the grandest event in the matches of Football at Estonia which is held annually and is a knock-out tournament. The winners of the Meistriliiga and the Estonian Cup are thereafter promoted to the Estonian Super Cup in which, they contest with each other in an annual one day game.
The Estonia National Football Team played their very first match in the year 1920.
The National Team of Football in Estonia has Mart Poom as the captain and Viggo Jensen as the head coach. The FIFA ranking of the National Team of Football of Estonia is one hundred and twenty seven while the ELO ranking is that of one hundred and eight.
