Estonian Greens is a political party of Estonia. Estonian Greens is the follower of the
Estonian Green Movement, that took the nation by storm when Soviet Union exploited the phosphorus deposit of the northern part of the country of Estonia. Estonian Greens party came into existence in the year 1988. The party became the member of the Coordination of European Green Parties in the year 1989. A split occurred in the year of 1989 and weakened the party. The registration of the party was canceled in the year of 1998 and it was not allowed to run the elections as they had less than thousand members in their group. The party could not be registered as the candidates were less than the stipulated number of candidates dictated by the law of Estonia.
In the year of 2005 the Estonian Greens started the membership recruitment campaign. The party held its national assembly in the year 2005 and thirteen members were elected. In December 2006 the members counted to about 1500 members.
The main aims of Greens Party of Estonia are:
- Protecting Estonia's forests, seas and other resources
- Combating the climatic changes
- Promoting Direct democracy
- Supporting Innovative and Conservative Fiscal policies

The election results were good for the Estonian Greens as they achieved about 7.1 of the total votes. The election reserved the party about 6 seats in the parliament of the country.
