Sampo Group is a major Finnish insurance company in Estonia and was registered in 2007. The Sampo Group Company has more than forty thousand customers across Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania. The market share of the Sampo Group of Estonia in the Baltic Region is around 15 %. The total number of the staff in the Sampo Group is around one hundred and ten. The only shareholder of the SE Sampo Insurance Baltic is the Sampo Life Insurance Company Limited in Finland that belongs to the Sampo Group itself. The share holding company, that is Sampo plc, is also listed over the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
The SE Sampo Life Insurance Baltic was established due to the merging of three Sampo Life insurance companies that used to operate in Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania. The term "SE" means "Societas Europaeas" and it is mainly under the regulation of the EU law.

The main products of the Sampo Group in Estonia are unit link -savings insurance along with several risk covers as riders, risk life insurance and loan insurance. These products of the Sampo Group at Estonia are offered through the Sampo Bank, the If offices and through the Sampo Life own sales force as well as several brokers present in all the Baltic countries.
