Eritrea communications system is an important aspect of the national life in Eritrea and is a major factor in deciding the progress of the country. Communications in Eritrea chiefly refer to communication by telephone services and Internet. Of the mass communication systems, the radio, newspapers, television channels and the other kinds of press media are important branches. The Sawa Media Station is an important communication platform, which has been facilitated with the best of media students from different backgrounds such as journalism, sound engineering, photography and the likes. The students are all trained in Military services but only the best of students at the military academy are chosen for the purpose of journalism.

Telecommunication In Eritrea

Though landline telephones are available in Eritrea, they are concentrated only in the major cities of Eritrea, which means that the remote places are still inaccessible by telephone. Even cellular phone services are unavailable in the country and no one till date uses a cellular phone. There are approximately 38,100 landline users. The only relief in Eritrea is communication by the Internet. There are three Internet Service Providers in Eritrea, the T Fanus Enterprise, the CTS Plc and the Ewan Technology Solution Plc.

This apart The Eritrea communications sector includes radio and television facilities. There is one television broadcasting station as of now and three radio stations, the FM NA, the AM2 and the shortwave 2.
