Cinema Imperio is among the best movie halls in Eritrea that is located on the Harnet Avenue. The Harnet Avenue of Asmara city is one of the liveliest streets and it is well facilitated with transportation system. The Cinema Imperio movie hall displays movies in English, Hindi and Italian language. Of course, for the benefit of the local audience, the movies are dubbed. In certain cases there are subtitled versions and the original language remains as it is. The Cinema Imperio is a flaming red colored building with the name written in vertical form. The movie hall is pretty large and is well equipped with all modern comforts and certain eatery outlets. The building that houses the Cinema Imperio is a four-storied building. The high court building lies close by and is a landmark in the Harnet Street.
Both the Bollywood and Hollywood movies are hot favorites with locals and the movie stars of the two industries are pretty well known to the local people. Local movies of Eritrea are scarce and if made are mostly based on the theme of Eritrea's struggle against Ethiopian rule.
There are other eight other movie halls in Eritrea other than the Cinema Imperio, including The Capital Cinema Asmara, the Odeon Cinema, Cinema Roma to name a few of them.
