Eritrea festivals are characterized with colorful celebrations, local customs and various cultural activities. Generally the festivals in Eritrea are celebrated during the summer season. The most important festival in Eritrea is called Expo. In Eritrea, this festival is celebrated annually.

The Bologna Festival, at one point had inspired nationalistic feeling among the young generation of the country and many people had participated in the freedom struggle. In Expo, creativity is highly encouraged. Youths from different parts of the country come to exhibit their creative and artistic pursuits. Cultural programs, dances and songs are performed by the local people during Eritrea festivals. There are many other youth fairs and regional festivals that are celebrated in Eritrea.
