To enhance the prospect of Jobs in Eritrea, Government of Eritrea has undertaken certain measures. Vocational training programs are given to the youths of the country. These training programs will help them to acquire jobs in Eritrea and abroad. The young generation of Eritrea needs to be independent and earn their living.
In recent years, the work profile has changed to some extent. It is preferred to join some clerical or official work rather than being a laborer. There has been a dearth of jobs in the period of political crisis in Eritrea. It was during their struggle for independence that influenced the social scenario. Unemployment in Eritrea increased during this time.
Jobs in Eritrea is available in the industries, factories and in ports. It is seen that the factory workers in Eritrea earn highest amount of wage compared to the other labor forces. Generally the workers in Eritrea earn a sum of about birr 150 to birr 1200 in a month. But the wage for the workers is not fixed.
Government of the country has set up a few policies regarding the employment in Eritrea. Nobody can start working before the age of eighteen years. But as apprentice, one can join a job at the age of fourteen.
