The Government of Eritrea has set certain Eritrea employment policies. Below the age of eighteen one is not supposed to be employed in Eritrea. But children can be taken as apprentices at the age of fourteen.
In Eritrea, people are mainly dependent on agriculture. Many of them are wage laborers. Employment in Eritrea can be sought in the industries and in ports. But unemployment in Eritrea had grown in alarming rate. But there had been an increase in the number of child laborers in Eritrea.
Eritrea employment is related to the economy of Eritrea. The wage for work is not fixed. The people employed in the factories are considered to earn highest amount of wage compared to other workers. Generally the workers earn birr 150 to birr 1200 per month.
Eritrea employment policies do not clearly state any provisions regarding leaves. Only few of the companies provide health insurances to the workers.
A gradual shift has been noticed in Eritrea employment. Youths are given different vocational trainings and many educational programs had been undertaken. These trainings are provided to them so that youths can employ themselves in office works instead as laborers.
