There is an increasing awareness to improve communication in Eritrea. A developed communicational infrastructure is needed for better flow of information. Electronic communication is also developing fast in the country of Eritrea under the guidance of different government organizations of the country. A development in the communication process will improve the standard of living in the country. A well-developed communication system also helps to manage certain crisis arising within the country.
Many institutions and organizations in Eritrea have come forward to implement the strategies adopted to improve the communication in the country. Initiatives are taken to set up an Internet Protocol for Eritrea. In the long run, a developed communication system of a country helps contribute in the development of economy in Eritrea.
A non-profit organization, called East African Internet Association or EAIA, has played a crucial role in the development of communication in Eritrea. Media in Eritrea is controlled by the government sector of the country. The country expects a steady rise in the use of radio, Internet, television and telephone in the households. A few years back, mobile services have also been started in Eritrea.
Communication within the country can be kept by availing the transport services in Eritrea. People can avail the bus services that ply between important towns. Railway service can be availed from Massawa to Asmara. Domestic flights are also available in Eritrea.
