The Currency of El Salvador is known as Salvadoran colon (SVC). Salvadoran colon is divided into 100 centavos. Colons were made in 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 and 200. However the primary Currency in El Salvador is U.S. Dollar (USD). To make the US currency more popular in the El Salvador Currency, the production of colon has been stopped quite some time back. The usage of dollars was introduced so that international trade and commerce becomes easier.
Prior to the use of colon in the Currency of El Salvador, pesos were used to carry on the El Salvador Economy and Business. Pesos were the fractional currency. However colon replaced the pesos in 1892.
